메탈에 대안적 음악이라는 의미로 nirvana 음악을 alternative라고 부르지만
nirvana 음악이 오히려 본래의 rock에 가깝다.
무슨 guitar 대회, 콩쿠르에 나가는 것처럼
groove없이 연주법이나 클래식의 기법을 도입해 올림픽化해버려 잘난체했지만
메탈은 어차피 클래식보다 복잡하지 않는 가짜 클랙식에 불과하다.
그런 잘난체에 염증을 느끼던 찰나에 nirvana의 음악과 태도가
rock의 사조를 바꾸고 대중을 열광케 한 것.
1990년대 힙합의 대두와 일맥상통한 부분도 있을 것이다.

grooveなしに奏法やクラシックの技法を取り入れてオリンピック化してしまって偉そうな顔をしたが
メタルはどうせクラシックより複雑ではないにせ物クルレックシックに過ぎない.
そんな偉そうな顔に嫌気を感じた刹那に nirvanaの音楽と態度が
rockの思潮を変えて大衆を沸き返えるようにしたこと.
1990年代ヒップホップの台頭と一脈相通じた部分もあるでしょう.
