Seoul destroyer
There’s a new song doing the rounds among United fans that warns Sir Alex he’ll “have a riot” on his hands if he sells Ji-sung Park. Not that it’s likely to happen: the manager"s admiration for the South Korean is well documented, and there’s no doubt the plaudits are well deserved.Since joining the Reds in summer 2005, the Seoul-born midfielder has developed into an integral part of Sir Alex’s plans, particularly on the big occasions. His limitless energy and ability to carry out tactics to the letter render him an important tool when it comes to nullifying opposition threats.
The Reds perform better when Park plays. A knee injury meant his contributions were only sporadic during the first half of the 2009/10 campaign, but since December United have won more games, scored more goals and conceded less often when Park has been in the team. Even in Tuesday"s Champions League defeat in Munich, both Bayern"s late goals came after he had been substituted.
And Ji"s contributions have been as varied as they have been valuable, particularly in Europe. Against Wolfsburg he began the game on the wing and ended up at right-back (“It’s the first time I’ve played that position since I was at university,” he later revealed), while in both legs against AC Milan he man-marked the Rossoneri’s playmaker, Andrea Pirlo, out of the game.
But there’s more Park’s game than mere spoiling: he"s scored vital goals against Arsenal in the last couple of seasons, found the net in the home leg against Milan and headed the priceless league winner against Liverpool, proof that he’s also an attacking asset.
When you think of Reds superstars, Ji-sung Park might not immediately spring to mind. But don’t let that muddy the waters: if picked against Chelsea, you can bet he won’t disappoint… and, as the stats show, United may just have a better chance of winning. 날조된 국내 언론에 세뇌된 왜국인은 알 수 없는 기사..( ′-`) y
